If people are up in arms over a parade float's paper mache elephant, then I think that's a sign that all is well with the actual alive and breathing animals of the world.
However, _I_ am most upset with that horrid spider on your blog header. I don't know how long it's been there (I usually read through my feed reader) but I want to start some sort of protest. I'm sure it's denigrating to spiders somehow and therefore you MUST change it ASAP. Not that I'm scared of spiders or anything.
